APK-Inform increased its estimations of the export potential of Kazakh grains in 2018/19 MY

Taking into account the January adjustments of the supply & demand balances of major grain crops in Kazakhstan, APK-Inform analysts increased their estimations of the export potential of wheat and barley in the current season.

Thus, in 2018/19 MY the export shipments of wheat from the country can reach 5.5 mln tonnes, an increase of 5.5% compared with last season. The exports of Kazakh barley will total 1.7 mln tonnes (up 26.2% compared with the season-2017/18).

The high export rates of the reporting crops in the first half of the season and the increasing estimations of wheat and barley production became the main reasons for increasing the export forecast. So, in the current MY the general harvest of wheat in Kazakhstan will increase to 14.98 mln tonnes (up 1.2% compared with the season-2017/18), barley — 3.9 mln tonnes (up 18.2%).

The market of major grains, as well as the supply & demand balances of Kazakh grains, will be one of the key topics of the second international conference "KazGrain-2019", to be held on April 4-5, in Astana.
