Croatia's 2018 wheat output rose 6.3% year-on-year, reaching 725,000 tonnes, the country's statistical office said on Wednesday, citing preliminary data.

The wheat yield in 2018 amounted to 5.4 tonnes per harvested hectare, the statistical office said in a statement.

The results were based on data collected by September 15.

The output of rapeseed rose by 13.2% to 154,000 tonnes in the period under review, as harvested area increased by 6,000 hectares in comparison with 2017.

The yield of oats and barley decreased by 35.3% and 14%, respectively, due to lower harvested area.
