The Russian Agriculture Ministry improved its forecast for wheat harvest in 2018, raising it to 70 million tonnes, but kept its projected grain yield unchanged at 110 million tonnes, the ministry's press service said on Thursday.
"The forecast for grain output in 2018 at the level of 110 million tonnes after processing remained.
Meanwhile, the Agriculture Ministry improved its projection for wheat crop to 70 million tonnes after processing," the ministry's press service said.
It was initially projected that wheat production in Russia in 2018 would amount to 69.3 million tonnes.
In 2017, Russia had record high crops, with 135.4 million tonnes of grain harvested, including 85.9 million tonnes of wheat.
