Kazakhstan exported a record volume of barley in September

The beginning of the export season features a rapid pace of barley shipments from Kazakhstan, reports UkrAgroConsult. The country shipped abroad 181.9 KMT of barley in September 2018/19 МГ, or 19% more than in September 2017/18. Moreover, this is a record export volume for the month. 

As before, the biggest importers of Kazakh barley early this season include Iran, Uzbekistan, and Afghanistan. At the same time, supplies to Iran increased 18%, while imports to Afghanistan were down 54% on the year.

As a reminder, 2017/18 barley exports from Kazakhstan hit a 25-year high of 1.38 MMT that is also up 97% from MY 2016/17.
