Russia may export up to 35 million metric tons of grain in the 2018-2019 agricultural year, Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Gordeyev said Tuesday.

"The forecast [on grain yield] remains approximately the same as we outlined in the middle of summer - the figure then was about 105 million tonnes.

The updated figure is 106 million tonnes, a slight change," Gordeyev, who oversees the development of the Russian agricultural sector, told reporters.

"Today, we can estimate exports of about 30-35 million tonnes of grain during the current agricultural year - from July 1 [2018] until July 1 [2019]," Gordeyev said.
