Ukraine has already exported 5.8 million tonnes of wheat, which is 36.1% of the amount projected in the Memorandum signed by grain market participants and the Agrarian Policy Ministry.
In particular, Ukraine has already exported 2.5 million of fodder wheat, which is 31.2% of the amount projected in the Memorandum, and 3.3 million tonnes of milling wheat, which is 41.0% of the projected export, according to the press service of the Agrarian Policy Ministry.
In 2018-2019 MY, 0.42 million tonnes of 2-grade wheat have been already exported, which is 38% of the projected export and 2.07 million tonnes of 3-grade wheat, which is 40% of the projected amount.
In September 2018, total wheat exports amounted to 2.3 million tonnes, which is 0.3 million tonnes less compared with the corresponding period last year. In August 2018, 2.2 million tonnes of wheat were exported (2.5 million tonnes in 2017-2018 MY).
As reported, on August 10, the Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry and grain market participants signed the Memorandum of Understanding for 2018-2019 MY (concluded since 2011). According to the Memorandum, the export of milling wheat is projected at 8 million tonnes, the export of fodder wheat – at up to 8 million tonnes. The domestic market demand for milling wheat is 4.5 million tonnes.
