Ukraine: in January 2019, Nika-Tera shipped over 0.5 mln tonnes of cargoes

In January 2019, Sea Special Port Nika-Tera LLC (Mykolaiv, part of Group DF) shipped over 528.6 thsd tonnes of cargoes, an increase of 75% compared with the same month in 2018, declared the press-service of the port on February 6.

For the first time in 8 years, Nika-Tera broke its own record for cargo turnover in January period, because the previous record of January transshipment volumes was reached in 2011, and totaled 394 thsd tonnes.

In particular, in the reporting month the transshipment of grains, oilseeds and its by-products covered 70% (369 thsd tonnes) in the general volume of cargo turnover, mineral fertilizers — 3.5% (19 thsd tonnes), and vegetable oils — 3% (15 thsd tonnes).

Also, in January 2019 the port processed the first tanker, and loaded it with 15.3 thsd tonnes of vegetable oils.

The seaport Nika-Tera continues providing various loading operations of grain and meal cargoes, using four loading machines, which increases the port capacities to simultaneously process the vessels with different types of cargoes, the press-service explained.
