Ukraine. Winter barley planting 100% complete

GRAINS. The harvest of late grains in Ukraine was 92% complete as of November 5 that is 4.7% more than as of November 6, 2017.

The corn harvest continues at a steady pace. 9% of the projected area has been harvested over the week against 8% a week earlier, reports UkrAgroConsult.

Planting of winter grains is 3% ahead of last year. That of winter barley is 100% complete. Its planted area is 7% larger than last year.

 

 

OILCROPS. According to the Ag Ministry of Ukraine, sunseed had been harvested from 5914.6 Th ha by November 5, i.e. from 98% of its projected area of 6055.7 Th ha. The harvest is 3.2% ahead of 2017. The crop amounted to 13250.1 KMT with an average sunseed yield of 2.24 MT/ha (up 13.7% from 2017). By the same date a year ago, farmers harvested 11280 KMT of sunseed from 5729 Th ha with an average yield of 1.97 MT/ha.

Soybeans had been harvested from 1648.7 Th ha by the reporting date (96% of their projected area of 1710.6 Th ha). Their harvest is now 6.2% behind last year. Farmers combined 4202.8 KMT of soybeans with an average yield of 2.55 MT/ha (+33.5% from 2017). A year ago, 3352 KMT was harvested from 1757 Th ha with an average yield of 1.91 MT/ha.
