China importing Ukrainian rapeseed oil at a rapid pace

This season’s rise in domestic rapeseed crushing brings the market’s export potential of processed products to a new level, reports UkrAgroConsult.

Thus, a total of 125.6 KMT of rapeseed oil was shipped abroad in July-October 2018/19, or more than twice as much as in the same period last year (57.1 KMT).

Ukraine exported 26 KMT of rapeseed oil in October 2018 against 56.1 KMT in the previous month and 8.9 KMT in September 2017.

Based on the trends seen during the season’s first months, UkrAgroConsult is raising its estimate for 2018/19 rapeseed oil exports.

In the first four months of the current season the rapeseed oil market was shared mainly by the EU (56%) and China (43%), though European countries apparently dominated a year ago (86% of total exports against China’s portion at just 13%).
