EU and Turkey imported more than 90% of all Russian sunflower meal

Russia exported 32.2 KMT of sunflower meal in July of this 2017/18 season. This is almost 40% less than in the previous month but 32% more than in July 2016/17. This season’s sunflower meal exports (September-July) not only fell by 6% against last year, to 1057.5 KMT vs. 1126.4 KMT a year ago, but also hit the lowest level since the 2011/12 season, reports UkrAgroConsult.

Key importers of Russian sunflower meal, which account for 92% of total exports, reduced purchases in the 2017/18 season. At the same time, the EU and Turkey are still the main export destinations, absorbing 50% and 42%, respectively.
