For 11 months of 2018, Belarus reduced the imports of sunflower meal — Belstat

In January-November of 2018, Belarus decreased the import volumes of sunflower meal by 17% compared with the same period of the previous year — 517.6 thsd tonnes, reported the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus (Belstat).

According to APK-Inform experts, the trend developed due to the growth of prices for sunflower meal imported from Ukraine (the main country-supplier), as well as the increased number of offers of meals made from alternative oilseeds on the Belarusian market.

In the reporting period, Ukraine (86% of the general volumes) and Russia (14%) remained the foreign suppliers of sunflower meal to Belarus.
