In 2018, Uzbekistan increased the imports of vegetable oils — Ministry of Agriculture

In 2018, Uzbekistan increased the imports of vegetable oils by 42.1% in physical terms compared with the previous year — to 175.4 thsd tonnes, and in monetary terms — up 19.3%, to 147.4 mln USD, declared the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

In particular, the imports of sunflower oil demonstrated the most significant upward trend — 140.9 thsd tonnes (up 41%) at the sum of 119.9 mln USD (up 31.2%), as well as soybean oil — 25.7 thsd tonnes (up 57.7%) at the sum of 18.8 mln USD (up 42.4%).

As a reminder, in January 2019 Uzbekistan formed the Association of enterprises of fat-and-oil products JSC Uzkimyosanoat.
