According to the recent statistics figures, in August-December of 2018/19 MY Russia increased the exports of mustard seed by 30% compared with the first 5 months of the previous season — to 37 thsd tonnes.

In the reporting period, Russia shipped the main volumes of the oilseed to Germany (13.2 thsd tonnes), Poland (8 thsd tonnes) and Bangladesh (7.7 thsd tonnes), which together purchased nearly 78% of the oilseed supplies.

Also, China, Mongolia, Pakistan and India appeared in the TOP-10 of countries-importers, and significantly increased their purchases of Russian mustard seed in the current season. At the same time, Austria, Ukraine and the Czech Republic reduced their purchases.

APK-Inform analysts estimated the export potential of the oilseed in the current season at 60-70 thsd tonnes. As a reminder, in the previous season Russia supplied nearly 50 thsd tonnes of mustard seed on foreign markets.
