LLC SSP Nika-Tera, for the first time in the company’s history, handled two Panamax vessels simultaneously and shipped the largest meal export cargo from Ukraine, reports UkrAgroConsult.
47 KMT of meal was loaded onto the ship “NICOS L.” The total volume of the export meal consignment shipped for Kernel Company amounted to 58 KMT – this is a record for Ukraine.
For the first time, the storage vessel “PRINCESS NICOLE” of Grain-Transshipment Company, instead of a tug and tow, was used in the port for additional loading of the Panamax vessel on the road. This technological scheme substantially accelerated the handling process. At the end of handling the vessel “NICOS L”, the loading of meal onto the next Panamax vessel – “MEDI EGADI” – was started at a nearby berth of Nika-Tera’s port. This vessel was loaded by two loaders at a time. Having taken on board 25.77 KMT of meal, MEDI EGADI ship went to Yuzhny port for additional loading.
Both of the above-mentioned ships were the first Panamax vessels loaded with export sunflower meal in Ukrainian ports this season.
In total, Nika-Tera’s port has loaded 20 vessels with a combined 367 KMT of meal since June 2018.
