Moldova. Scarce soil moisture poses the main risk to winter rape

Dry October in Moldova may put the country’s rapeseed crop at threat. Over 40 Th ha has been sown to winter rape this year, or almost 13 Th ha more than in 2017. Correspondingly, the rapeseed crop may increase to 100 KMT, reports UkrAgroConsult.

However, the Agriculture Ministry does not rule out that the forecast yield may be reduced from 2.5 MT/ha to 1.8 MT/ha. At the same time, yield is predicted to be higher (3-4 MT/ha) locally in earlier planted fields. Such plantings are now in good condition.
