Rapeseed crop in Belarus down almost 12%

This year’s rapeseed crop in Belarus totaled 532 KMT. This is down 11.7% from last year, when farmers managed to harvest 603 KMT of oilseeds, reports UkrAgroConsult.

The area planted to rape for the 2018 harvest decreased 2.2%, to 331.8 Th ha against 339.3 Th ha a year ago. The rapeseed production decline resulted mostly from low yield, which was just 1.6 MT/ha this year against 1.81 MT/ha in 2017.
