Russia. 87% of imported palm oil is of Indonesian origin

Palm oil import to Russia gained 0.7% during the first two months in the 2018/19 season, reaching 170.1 KMT against 169 KMT a year earlier, reports UkrAgroConsult.

Palm oil purchases in October 2018 totaled 103 KMT, or 53.5% more than in the previous month and up 40% from October 2017.

As a reminder, Russia purchased a record more than 1 MMT of palm oil in the 2017/18 season.

Traditionally, the bulk of palm oil comes to Russia from Indonesia (87% of total imports). This season, Malaysia has somewhat reduced palm oil deliveries to Russia, yielding ground to the Netherlands. These countries accounted for 4% and 5% of total imports, respectively.
