Russia became the top sunflower oil supplier to Turkey

According to the Statistics Institute of Turkey, 498.5 KMT of sunflower oil was imported in 2018. The bulk of the commodity (326.5 KMT) was sourced from Russia (over 65% of total imports), reports UkrAgroConsult.

Sunflower oil was also purchased from Ukraine (72.5 KMT) and Bosnia (67.5 KMT). Its imports from Bosnia were duty-free under bilateral agreements.

In addition, Turkey imported 631.5 KMT of sunflower seed in 2018, including 258 KMT from Moldova, 241.5 KMT from Romania, 96.5 KMT from Bulgaria and 16.5 KMT from Hungary.
