Russia reduced sunflower seed processing in the season beginning

Vegoils production in the first two months of the 2018/19 season totaled some 913 KMT against 914.7 KMT a year ago. So, despite a bumper oilseed crop, last year’s record was not broken, reports UkrAgroConsult.

The start of the new 2018/19 season features a decline in sunseed processing. It results from the situation in the oilseed product markets in view of increasing crusher interest in soybeans and rapeseed. However, the marketing year is expected to close with a new record in oil production.

October vegoils production amounted to 549.1 KMT of vegoils. This is up 51% from the previous month (363.7 KMT) but 1.5% less than in October 2017 (557.5 KMT).

Sunflower oil production in October amounted to 427 KMT, up 85.6% from the previous month and 7.8% more than in October 2017.
