In December MY2018/19, large and medium-sized enterprises of Ukraine produced 525.3 thou. tons of sunflower oil, which is 1.5% more compared to the previous month and 10.2% higher y-o-y, UkrAgroConsult reports.

Over the four months period of the current season, the production of sunflower oil reached 1.99 million tons against 1.81 million tons a year earlier.

Analysts note that due to the decrease in the volume of sunflower processing in the last two months, the current season has lost its record status since the MY2016/17 processing volume is 0.2% higher. In the analyzed period of MY2016/17, the production of sunflower oil was at the level of 2 million tons.

In many countries, rapeseed production during the harvest 2019 is likely to increase, while a significant decrease is expected in the EU.
