Rapeseed crushing in Ukraine started falling in September 2018. Consequently, rape oil production totaled just 15.2 KMT that month, or four times less than in August 2018 (63.8 KMT) and 11.6% less than in September 2017.
However, rape oil production in the first three months of the current 2018/19 season reached a record of some 123 KMT against 51.7 KMT in the same period last season. The current marketing year features an active start from the very first month. This was made possible due to an earlier harvest. In addition, some crushers showed interest in rapeseed, processing this feedstock for the first time.
Taking into account the current 2018/19 trends, UkrAgroConsult estimates that rape oil production will amount to at least 150 KMT.
