Ukrainian farmers already gathered 2 mln tonnes of soybeans

Ukrainian farmers have already harvested 2 million tonnes of soybeans (48%) with a yield of 24.9 dt/ha, the press service of the Agrarian Policy Ministry reports.

"As of October 2, Ukrainian farmers harvested 2 million of soybeans from an area of 816 thousand hectares (48% of the forecast) with a yield of 24.9 dt/ha. In general, 41.6 million tonnes of grain and leguminous crops have been already gathered from an area of 11.2 million hectares (76%) with a yield of 37.1 dt/ha," the ministry reports.

In particular, 34.3 million tonnes of early grain and leguminous crops were threshed from an area of 9.9 million hectares with a yield of 34.8 dt/ha; 6.9 million tonnes of corn from an area of 1.1 million hectares (25%) with a yield of 59.2 dt/ha; 108 thousand tonnes of buckwheat from an area of 87 thousand hectares (80%) with a yield of 12.5 dt/ha; 66 thousand tonnes of millet from an area of 43 thousand hectares (82%) with a yield of 15.4 dt/ha.

In addition, 9.4 million tonnes of sunflower seeds were trashed from an area of 4.3 million hectares (72%) with a yield of 21.6 dt/ha and 2.7 million tonnes of rapeseed from an area of 1.0 million hectares with a yield of 26.1 dt/ha. Also, sugar beets were harvested from an area of 67 thousand hectares (24%) with a yield of 480 dt/ha.

Together with harvesting, the autumn sowing campaign is underway. Thus, farmers have already sowed 4.3 million hectares with winter crops (59%) with a projected area of 7.2 million hectares, The farmers also sowed 967 thousand hectares with winter rapeseed (109%) with a projected area of 888 thousand hectares.
